How do you take the end play out of the crankshaft? Parts book does not show any type of bushings to use. Any help would be appreciated.

Strokerd---remove flywheel clean up splines, then you will see thrust sticking out of little cover remove cover and pull thrust out and take duck tape and stick to protuding surface, take ball peen hammer and trim off excess (duck tape mic's about 6-7 thousands) slide thrust back on shaft make sure duct tape stays in place, take a chain and wrap around axle the other end around frame, the chain is across end of crankshaft, put boomer on chain and tighten down this holds crank over till you get flywheel nailed down. Slide flywheel on up against (6-7 thous. duct tape) I usualy put a little locktite on shaft prior to installing flywheel, tighten flywheel bolts down good wait a while to let locktite dry then remove boomer and chain and you got a tight flywheel. This is a good method especially if you have a stroked crank where no end play can be tolerated. later Gman

strokerd, loosen the (2) flywheel bolts then slide the flywheel in or out on the crank until you get .005-.010" end play. That is easier said than done, flywheels don't always move that easily. You will probably have to remove the clutch cover & have someone hold the crankshaft in to be able to move the flywheel in towards the engine.

You take up the end play by loosening the flywheel up and sliding it in. I believe the correct end play is .007.
