Okay fellows- I have a 2010 diesel that keeps acting like it is locking up in reverse. Some times it will be okay and than other times it acts like it locks up in multiple reverse speeds at the same time. Some times I will be moving and it does this. Linkage seems okay. Adustment doesn't seem to help any. I have the speed range adjustment almost all the way out, If I pull it back up to what seems like the correct position, the tractor locks up in high range(6 or 8). Looking inside the case it seems like the cam slides down to far allowing the two shift guides to slide out and not able to go back into slots on cam until I phyiscally do it with the cover off. Please help as this is a great tractor otherwise! Thanks, Kerry

I had much the same problem. The cams slipped out when the shifter lever was pulled back too far. I got real good at lifting the tranny cover and reaching down in and getting the cam back in place. The big problem is you sit there until you fix it. I finally drilled a hole in the side of the transmission case, tammed it and put in a 3/8 bolt to act as a stop, to stop the lever from going back too far. You have to fool around with aduusting how far to screw in the bolt so that you get the slider to move enough to get it in gear without letting the cams slip out. Put a nut on the bolt before installing it so that it acts like a lock nut. You have to drill the hole prefect the first time because you have only one chance. It's worked fine since.
