If a '44 A came from the factory with pressed rims, would the hub bolts have been painted - yellow (front and back)?? Also, was the "JOHN DEERE" on the axle casting painted yellow also?? One other issue. The hubs are different. One is heavy with JD number and the other is lighter with no JD numbers. I was told that one may be a replacement due to wear from plowing. If so, which side would be which. I apologize for not being green literate as this is a new color for restoring to me. Any help is appreciated. Thank you..

Keith,
The cast words "John Deere" on the back were also painted yellow as far as i know. Good Luck. My 2 cents

Keith, the hubs, bolts, and letters on the axle housing were all painted yellow. Of the two hubs you have, the one with the wide flange is the original one, and the lighter looking unit is the newer replacement. The lighter looking one is actually the heavier unit due to it being made out of better cast. Hope this helps. Mike
