You will have a problem eather way. We have 1700# bales from a JD 510 round baler. When we have the bale fork on the 3 PT of the backup 730D WITH 5 factory front end weights AND a factory sq axel wide front which adds about 1300# of weigth on the front end over a standard roll-a-matic and off the level going up hill will put the front end right in the air. From the hay yard up the driveway to the cow yard we have to back up the drive. In the field we come in to the bale from the down hill side a back up to the field road, then we can drive down the hill 1/2 mile to the hay yard. We have a "BEEFED UP" (Also read that as "HIGHLY MODIFIED"" JD 35 loader on a 630. The weight of the loader on the front and a factory sq axel wide front will act as a counter weight on the front so the 630 can take a 1700# round bale anywhere on the 3 PT. We have a grapple fork on the bucket of the 35 loader and even with a 1000# JD 115 rear blade on the 3PT PLUS 8 wheel weighs (1200#) AND the tires full of fluid, when we have a 1700# round bale in the grapple, we are spinning the rear tires going up even a small hill. 1st gear NEVER higer then 2nd gear with a bale in the grapple!!!!! And then there are still times I worry that the front end can take it over ruff frozen ground or in the spring mud when you turn the streeing wheel, hit the one brake and STILL go straight. The 35 loader was built for the 40 420 430 1010 2010 and the 3010,,,,BUT the frames were differant. The boom, buckets were the same,,,but the cylinders and the frame s were differant depending on what tractor it went on. The frames were a three piece frame that bolted together. A 35 loader frame for a 430 will not fit a 2010 without modifacation.

The 36A replaced the 35 and had a differant frame that used the same pieces no matter what tractor it went on, it just bolted together on differant holes depending on what tractor it went on. SPECS from the ops manual 35 Loader as mounted on a 430 weight of loader 775# rated brakaway cap 1,652# Rated lift to full height 1,348# lift height 9 feet 9 inchs 36A Loader as mounted on a 2010 utility weight of loader 1,016# rated brakeaway cap 2,500# rated lift to full height 1,600# lift height 9 feet 7 inchs.

Go to the photo gallery and under surch deleat DEERE and type in my name and a pix of the 630 and the 35 loader should come up, (If it's working. It works about half the time. Or you can e-maile me at hanleyranch@yahoo.com and I can send you some pixs of how we handle round bales. PS; The 35 loader came with 2 1/2 inch dia lift cylinders. We replaced them with 3 " and then replaced the 3" with 4". And have 3" cylinders on the bucket tilt. The cylinder to run the grapple is 3"

You say you only have single remotes. The 2010 had a way to tap into under the dash so you can have remotes onj the loader so you can have a hyd bucket. It shows how in the ops manuel for the 36A mounted on 2010.

Would I move any round bale over 1000# with a 2010? NO.

Mike,

I didn't start this thread but I really do appreciate your answer.

I have been looking at a 1964 2010 diesel with a 36A loader. The tractor is in poor condition and the asking price is $2,000. I was looking to offer $1,500 and do some repairs so that I could use this tractor to move hay put up by a 100 plus horse JD tractor and baler. A friend says they will weight 2,000# but that may be high but at least they will go 1,500#. I wanted this tractor to move hay and light bucket type chores. I was concerned about buying and then investing 3 or 4,000 more and still be unable to handle the hay like needed. I may still buy it to mount the loader on my MF255D but then I wouldn't have quick tach. If this loader could be adapted to my tractor it would have to come off to service the battery and air filter. That doesn't seem like a good deal at any price. My tractor doesn't have remote hydralics so to mount a front pump and hardware will likely run about $1,000 plus the cost of any loader I might find. Your post explained the capicity of the loader and that puts this loader in the lower end of my needs. I had already thought that if it was a 3010 or 3020 that sold cheap I could put another 4 or 5 thousand in it but the result would be a tractor that would be equal or better that any task I might give it. The 2010 is just too small for my needs and to have too much in it and it still not do a complete job is just a chance I don't need to take. If my hay does run 1,500# or more that will just test the loader too much. I feel now that the 36A is just too light for me to even try. Thanks for such a complete post.

With that much weight out front you will want to use a counterweight on the rear

You can use a JD 35 loader for that tractor but you should go to a smaller bale. That's too much weight hanging out front if it would pick it up.
Why not just use a bale spear on your 3pt hitch?
Much cheaper and safer. Just my opinion.
Good Luck
