oh k when i turn the D over 3 out of the 4 vavles move out, one of the valves moves in unstead of out and i need somehelp it was working fine until today when this started doing this and i have no clue why some one told me a bent push rod and i don't think so cause i havn't ran the motor, i just put the head on and i was putting the rocker cover back on and it wasn't going on right so i decided to adjust the width of the valves that way they would go into the rocker arm cups and thats when i noticed that the one rod was messed up and two where not in line with the others and i have no clue why they are doing this and i am pissed cause i have to get it running it has good compression, and any one with someinformation please contact me.

THanks

ANdy

Tractor man, I guess I don't fully understand your problem. If you are worried that all the valves don't move in the same direction at the same time, that is normal, the valves must open & close at different times for the engine to make compression. If one valve doesn't move at all, make sure the push rod is in the cam follower inside the engine. If you are worried about the rocker arms lining up on top of the valves you might have to put some shim washers between the rocker arms & spacers. If you put the head on before putting the push rods in (we have all done that at least once) you can remove the adjuster screws & slide the pushrods through the rockerarms then put the adjuster screws back in & adjust them (see above).
