The owner of the M that I posted about a few lines down called me back and said he would accept my offer of $700. I told him that I had another tractor I was more interested in but I would let him know in 24 hours. Based on the comments I have gotten, I am still interested but may still pass.

My question is this...Is $700 still too much? If I get it and decide it will take too much money to ever get my money out of, how much could I get if I parted it out? Thanks for your input....Steve

Out here in central California, $700 is way too much for a "M" in poor condition. If you are looking to make an profit by selling components, consider your time, effort and the number of Farmall "M"s available for purchase. I can purchase a whole fleet of poor condition "M"s and never pay over $200 per tractor. There were 280,000 "M"s made over a 14 year period. Good luck

Wrong M, looking at a John Deere M, not quite as popular as the venerable Farmall M.

Ray, Steve is talking about a John Deere M, not Farmall.

A running JD M in East Texas can bring up to $1500. Sometimes more depending upon how bad a case of tractor epizootic he has. I believe you're in the ball park.
