A Friend and neighbor in the farming community where I live has a late model A that he would like to convert to electronic ignition. he knew I had converted my 4020G to electronic ignition, and knew it ran alot better, so he asked me about it. I told him of the advantages that I have found from the conversion, but I also explained why I couldn't recommend getting his ignition system from where I purchased mine. I simpley refuse to send money or recommend sending money in that mans direction. I wont tell you where I got my Electronic Ignition system, but I'll give you three gueses and the first two don't count. Therefore; what I need to know from you all is who is the best parts supplier of electronic ignitions for 2 cylinder tractors, both in quality of system, and CUSTOMER SERVICE. After all if the man needs some tech help, it would be nice for him to be able to call the supplier for further directions, should they be confusing. All suggestion are welcome, and will be passed on. Thanks in advance, Greg H.

you guys are kidding yourself if you're not buying the product from Andy at Genesee Electronics. I've installed 4 kits and the performance is unbelievable...like going from model T to a Tbird in performance. I want have another tractor without this equipment.

Greg, I have made them myself on boat and truck engines etc and never had any trouble with any of them. A solid state device is usually very reliable because once they burn in, theres little if any further degradation and the pick up coils are simply turns of wire that draw hardly any current. I had good luck using the old Brain Boxes off Chrysler products made in the 70's and 80's, the junk yards say they never see any bad units. If your friends any kind of mechanic or hobbyist, all he needs to do is replace the points in the distributor with a pick up coil and have magnetic strips in the place of the high cam lobe slots on the distributors shaft and then use about any control box. The electronic units provide more spark energy (longer fatter hotter arc) across a wider plug gap and they sure do help. Ol John T

Greg, Call CBS Performance at 1-800-685-1492. They sell and service the Pentronix ignition kit. I have 4 tractors with these kits and I wouldn`t go back to points for a lot of money. I have a 4010 gas that will start in cold weather. A first for one of those. I bet your 4020 is a whole different horse with that ign kit in it!

Check w/ Gennessee. You used to be able to reach them through this website. We have one on a 51 A and it is a great system, simple to install. Hope this helps.
