Today, i stopped by look at the 1941 model A, it looks good shape, it runs good, its has eletric start, but carb needs to clean it and the fuel is need clean too. there is no smoke. when i drove it around, it need to make adjustment to give more power to take off. i see no leaks all over the tractor. no viberation and noise. good brakes. this tractor is all fuel but it runs on gas. i have a sereval question before buy this tractor tomorrow

1) do I have to make a compression test? this tractor is not hard to start. It starts easy when weather is 45 degree

2) when i put it 4 or 5 gears. it have not enough power to take off, what is wrong with that. When i disenage the clutch to stop the tractor, the engine rev. faster then go back at normal speed.

3)This guy is asking $1,200 for this tractor, I want to trade for MT, I bought the MT last summer I pay $2,300. what should i do with it.

4) what do you thinks about the tractor?
do you think that tractor would be having problem? I don't know that tractor has been overhual, that guy said don't know either. What about the price? Do you think i can go for it? What the other thing i need to do?

Thank you!

Tracy

I would do a compression check first. Then I would ask my self AM I WILLING TO OVER HAUL THIS ENGINE? It can take a lot of money to overhaul engine. I would see if he will come down a little in price.
