I'm going to be taking a '79 2640 with 146 loader to a sale next month and am wondering appx what it will go for. It's a low hour machine with rops, dual outlets, 15.5x38 rubber. thanks

Michigan....sale is 2-24-01 in St Louis which is about 50 miles north of lansing. It's an anual inventory reduction sale held at the John Deere dealer there. Always alot of higher quality equipment at this sale and the auction crew is very professional. I thought about seperating the two but I think i'll keep them together incase I don't get what i want it'll be easier to get home.

Mikes right, with the loader if it's in good shape maybe 14 or 15, but according to the Fastline magazines for this area, as well as dealer prices I've seen 12-14 thousand is all they are currently bringing. Great little tractor, Why ya selling it? Greg H.

I got a 4620 that i'm putting a 158 loader on. I'm going to be handling big square bales (3x3x8) and the 2640 i'll probably break in half. you are right.....very nice little tractor.
