Matt: Its good to here from someone with a JD 1020. I have just registered my 1973 Diesel model in YT's Registery and I urge you to do the same. Just click Tractor Registery, under the Research & Info link on the left-side of the YT page. I have some research finished on these late "20" series JD tractors and I would be glad to share it with you and others. Be advised, we have a small problem with our JD 1020's. Our Problem: JD's Late xx20 Series Tractors: _ We don't seem to fit the "old boys" definition of antique tractors... i.e. haven't suffered enough and the late 20 series JD tractors are not old enough to be considered true antiques! _ We're too small, regarding the HP range, to be a "serious" tractor. _Big, modern "Iron" is less than 20 years old and is much too complex, expensive and vital to ag-businesses to allow our utility JD's any serious attention on the net or in print. :) Now, I am not "real serious" with these observations. But, you will feel, at times, that one or more of these observations is true, as you gather data, look up parts and generally do research on your JD 1020. Its a good JD tractor and we can help each other out. I am sure others will be of value to us JD 1020 owners and that's what these net sites are all about.
