I purchased the MT from the second owner. the tracter has multi-piece sprokets, two sizes next to each rear axle housing mounted of course on the axle. I am curious if any of you know what attachment these were used for, and perhaps where I could locate one!!? I am also in search of a mounted field cultivator for the M series tractors. I have seen two so I know they exist. Both had about 7 to 9 shanks. Thanks for any help. Also want a set of cultivators for 41 JD B, and a planter would be nice. I want to use these tractors!!! Any one know what size plow would be apropriate for the B. I was thinking 2-16", pull type on spokes? Thanks again Joe

The one i had the sprocket was for a fertilizer
side dresser for tobacco. The side dresser
mounted on the side of the tractor,on top
of the cultivator and drove off a flat chain
on tha axle.A flexable metal hose went down
to a shoe that put fertilizer in the row
beside the plant as you cultivated.

Joe, I think 2-16s might be a bit much for a 41 B, of course it depends on the plowing conditions. I think you would be happy with 2 12s or maybe 2 14s. Around here 14" plows seem to be easier to find. See what you can find cheap to start with and after the smile wears off a bit, decide if it is too big. Bob
