I have a 1936 unstyled John Deere B. I am in the process of replacing the radiator core. The bottom and top tanks gasket surfaces are pitted. What options do I have to try and get these surfaces smooth so the gasket will seat? Also does anyone know the correct lengths for the inlet and outlet pipes for the top and bottom tanks and the pipe wall thickness. Thanks Dennis

I used JB weld then draw filed and sanded smooth if you are not replacing the studs, then very tedious worked is required around these. I used self stick Caterpillar type gasket material, plus # 1 Permatex.
