My dad has recently started to work on a project to restore an old double tractor and I would appreciate knowing how I can get information about it for him. As I have been looking at this site, I think the 2D must stand for two D tractors joined together some way. He is set up to work on it at Pioneer Acres by Irricanna, Alberta. He had never seen a tractor like this and felt the double aspect would been interesting and unique. It was in use up to 1974. He is not interested in computers much, so I told him I would go looking. I am a city girl and know very little about tractors so keep things simple. Thanks

I think an aftermarket supplier actually made the conversion kit that would connect two D's together. I have also seen pictures of this done with JD R's and a few other wheatland tractors. I don't know who made the kits, someone else on here might. The basic restoration of the D's should be pretty standard stuff, the real challenge will be the linkages for steering, gears, clutches, etc...Best of luck and please send some pictures - Fireman
