What is a John Deere G hood worth? It has a few minor dings, but is very repairable, also has the small tank still attached.

Whatever someone will pay for it. It should be worth a fair chunk of change, though. Decent styled "G" tinwork is hard to come across. Decent grilles are basically impossible to find, even in these parts, where there are a lot of salvage "G"s to be found. Personally, I'd hold onto it. Whatever it's worth today, it's bound to be worth more in a couple of years. I'd fix the damage, prime it and put it on a high shelf for a rainy day - either yours or someone else's.

I was thinking of trading the hood for my brothers 4020 hubs for pressed wheels. Is this a fair trade, or is the hood worth more than that.

If your brother needs a hood why not give it to him for Christmas? They're not worth anything if you don't need it. easy Hey...I need a G clutch ...and it's Christmas isn't it?

I don't know about comparing values of those two items, but it's a fair bet that there are probably a lot more dual hubs out there that will fit a 4020 than good "G" hoods. It's up to you. If he needs the hood and you need the hubs, and you both feel like it's a good deal, go for it. But, those dual hubs will fit everything from 3010s to 3020s to 4000s to 7520s to 4430s to 4440s to 4450s, with the only differences being the sleeves (wedges), which you can still buy brand-new from Deere. A little hunting ought to turn up all kinds of those hubs. Once again, if it were me, I think I'd hold on to the hood. It's your call.
