Does anyone know if a powerblock and head off of a 49 "A" will go onto a 41 "A" and bolt up right? Thanks -Ross Boots

Ross, A 49 "A" uses a 6-2 model Powerblock. A 1940 through 46 uses a 6-1 model Powerblock. So to answer your question No it will not fit, the rear bolt pattern where the block bolts to the case is different. In 1950 they went to a 6-3 model block which will fit 1950 and later "A's" as well as the model 60. I got one of those I would sell. Hope this news don't make you blue! Dave W.

What kind of shape is your power-block in and what are you asking for it. I have a 52A and might be interested.

Thanks,I just know where I can buy a 49 A with a powerblock that the oil pump quit working and seized it up and a 41 A that the engine just got stuck from sitting. I was just wondering if it was possible to switch the powerblock to the 41 because it is a handstart and I like those, but if it had a powerblock I think it would be fun to play around with. -Ross
