I have my father's original tractor - J.D. G, and after installing a new head gasket and filling the rad with water, water poured out the four tappet guide holes into the crankcase as well as the tappet cover. I am a novice at this, is the block damaged or is the gasket?

Thks

Have a couple of NOS F55R head gaskets if needed. Would like $75.00 each for them.

Thanks, after reading the message from Deereheart, I may take a better look at the pattern of the head gasket and if it is suspect in design I will contact you to purchase one from you.

Do you know of an unstyled G for sale.

Euc. You did not say why you changed the gasket or where you got the new one. the last time I ordered an F55R from Deere they told me it was no longer available. the gasket after ser# 7100 is completly different. I ended up having a new one made. Hope this helps. DOUG

I bought the gasket along with many others several years ago and as I was disassembling the head to chek the cylinders and pistons decided to replace the head gasket since I had it. I had the G storeed for several years and had not run it in those years. I noticed water in the crankcase even though I had drained the cooling system years ago. I plan to inspect as far into the cavities of the block as I can. Any other advise is welcome.
