Oil pressure

I drug a 1947 M out of a shed after a 15 year stay. The engine was free and it was easy to get running to load and bring home to begin restoration. My concern is that it seems slow to build oil pressure and it appears to have more valve train noise than my MT. Do I pull the pan and adjust the pump or do I have a clogged oil passage problem or something worse? The tractor runs great and does not smoke or blow oil. Thanks in advance, Jeff

Jeff, I would change the oil and filter, before going into the pump. Also, I have had them stop up with crud at the oil filter base. Remove the 3 bolts and pull the filter base housing. There will be some oil passages there. Run a wire into them and compressed air. Maybe even squirt some carb. cleaner into them. Check the passages in the filter housing also.
If yours has the small oil line going from the engine block up to the head, check it also, you may not be getting enough oil to the valve train. Sometimes this line or the fittings will be plugged up.
