There were some early Ds on rubber. Some in 1925-26 had hard rubber tires for road work. Later Ds in '28, '29, and '31 had factory pneumatic rubber tires (air filled).

I don't think anyone has found any of the above tractors, yet. There were very few made.

If you have a 1929 D on rubber, most likely it was added by an owner who got tired of his sore back, and welded some rims for rubber tires on the tractor. Or, like our '28 D, the lugs were removed, and strips of rubber were bolted on.

If you want to see some pictures of the earliest Ds on rubber, go to my website below.

Factory installed pneumatic rubber became generally available in late 1933. I have seen some pictures taken at the factory of some DIs with dual pneumatic rubber tires on the rear and singles on the front all on cast wheels, these may have been tractors used by Hawkeye Motor Patrol Road Maintainers, they had the same wheels & tires. These are all pneumatic rubber tires, there were some DIs as early as 1924 that had hard rubber tires on steel wheels for road work.

I forgot to add that the DIs with the Duals were 1931 models.
