Hello current and former 2010 owners! I purchased a 1961 JD 2010 diesel wide front row crop with power steering, dual rockshaft system and single remote hydraulic valve. Tractor ran fine but the power steering, 3-point and remote cylinder never worked. I tried soaking the filter screen in carburetor fluid and replacing the fluid. I did this twice and that didn't work. I finally bought a brand new wire mesh filter from john deere and (surprise!), the power steering, 3-point and remote cylinder work great! Problem: now hydraulic fluid pours out of the steering column near the hand throttle and soaks my pant legs and boots. This is not a "drip, drip" type of leak. It is literally pouring out and would probably drain the reservoir (8 gal) in about an hour. So I disengaged the hydraulic pump and now I'm back to having a tractor that runs fine with no hydraulics. I replaced the seal that goes right above the hydraulic steering valve, but that didn't help. The service manual doesn't address this situation. Any ideas from the 2010 experts out there would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Joe Stewart

Your steering valve needs to be rebuilt. There is some stuff in there that needs to be set up with a dial indicator.
