Have a friend has 4020 he added the turbo everything is working OK but I told him may be able to find a schematic or directions somewhere to ensure we installed it correctly. Also when working this tractor should it be run at full throttle for plowing etc? It is a powershift 69 model.

'69 has the small inj pump unless it has been changed over to the old style big pump . I don't know much about the small one . We used to put a 7-3 leaf spring in the old style pump and use the "smoke screw" to set it to 120hp on a good dyno . DON"T go any higher than that if you are doing any heavy work , it won't live no matter what they say , BEEN THERE DONE THAT and scored pistons . Run at 2200 rpm or so . Make sure cooling sysrem is in tip top shape because more power means more fire and more HEAT . M&W used to have an 8 blade fan and shroud kit and a 20qt aliminum oil pan to help keep it cooler , there are some of them around but they are getting hard to find nowdays . I have the fan , pan etc. on my old 4020 , used to have some extra parts but sold them to some of the local pullers several years ago . I use my old 4020 just for light work , mowing , spraying spreading manure , basically a chore tractor , also I pull it in farm stock classes , run it to 225hp but that's for short time when the season is over I set it back to 125hp . I have a little bigger head in my pump .I guess I've ran on long enough , if you have any questions please ask , JIM

Did you do the revisions to the injection pump? Also did a pyrometer come with the turbo? If you aren't carefull, running wide open on a hard pull the exhaust temperature can easily exceed 1250 deg. and melt the pistons. Your deere dealer should be able to get you some info. on the charger set up. They used to sell them for the early 5020's. Good luck with it.
