Joe, I presume by your heading that you have a Wico C mag? If so you will have to drill a small hole in the housing (low or in the bottom so water doesn't get in) then run a small 18 or 20 gauge wire in through the hole keeping it away from moving parts & hook it to the same terminal on the points that the condenser hooks to, seal the wire entry point with silicone or use a small rubber grommet to keep the dirt & water out. Then just hook that wire to a push button or toggle switch with the other terminal hooked to ground & just flip or push the switch to shut it down. I wouldn't worry about shutting your tractor off that way, you don't run your car, lawnmower or later series John Deere out of fuel to shut it off do you?

You are going to get different opinions on this one but I believe you are better served to turn off the gas at the sediment bulb then let the tractor run out of gas to shut it down. The operator manual talks about this for the earlier tractors and others have said that it keeps the plugs cleaner and maintains a film of oil on the cylinder walls. I can't remember if a C mag has it but X mags have the little bolt with a nut on the side of the mag that you can ground out to the tractor frame if you want to.
