How much oil does a 1935 JD D take.

Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Jimmy the oil filter is on bottom right side(underneath crankcase) by the drain plug, if not it's right there behind the flywheel and gas tank, shouldn't be as 34 was the last year for that one. If you change filter be sure to change gasket in the case, widest one that you can get in there easy, and don't tighten the filter cap any more that it takes to not lead. ( you only have about 15 lbs PSI).
My 38 D holds a little over 2 1/2 gallons, ( book says 3gal), but fill till it comes out of the oil level cock (right side under belt pulley)
Also you will need to drain sump on left side behind flywheel,square head plug on the bottom, and then pull the other plug above it to fill, about 2 quarts. Think this is forgotten more than it is changed,very easy to do. For what weight oil see Clooney's post to Jared D.

The book says aprox 2 gallons in crankcase.
