Would a 2010 engine, clutch, and transmission- about 45 horsepower, with a stuck engine be strong enough to undergo dragging and popping the clutch without tearing up something severely. Thanks

It was parked because something was wrong with it after nearly 40 years of age/usage. Yanking it now after adding three years of corrosion will make you say " them old Deere's are no good". A gasket set is a cheap price to tear it down & have a look. A 2010 is best used as only a parade tractor & part of a 1010 through 5010 collection. Good intentions but they had numerous problems. They rate right up there with Manhiem 510's & 710's.

Squirt your favorite lube into the cylinders many times for many days; I use Kroil. Let soak. Rock the tractor while in gear useing the rear tires to rock back and forth. You can get a lot of leverage pushing and pulling on top of the treads. Patience is the word.
I have freed two tractors like this. If it won't let go like this, the cylinders are probably pitted and should be rebuilt.

It is gas, and it has been sitting about three years, but i'm not sure wether it was used w/out oil or if it just froze over time. It has been sitting out in the weather also

If 2010 engine is stuck and due to its design a teardown is required. If you free the engine by pulling be assured that a rebuild will be necessary.

So you are saying that if I free the engine by pulling it in gear then I will have to rebuild or overhaul the engine.

Blake, I purchased a 1010 (same engine design) with a stuck engine a few years ago tried the pull and pop clutch routine and ended up having to tear the engine down. Question - Is there antifreeze/ water in the oil? If so the copper gaskets at the base of the cylinders have failed. making a rebuild necessary. It is very doubtful you can free a 2010 engine and it function correctly. May I suggest that you look for a running 45 combine engine (early round back with a JD 145 Power Unit) and replace your 2010 engine. It is the same and will bolt in with the changing of the valve cover, oil pan, etc.

I know of 2 jd45 roundbacks, shedded, haven't been ran in a couple of years but ran good when they were parked. Located in southern Indiana. Make an offer.

In a word, no. If it's stuck that bad, "dragging and poppping the clutch" is only going to bend/break parts. Either do it right by taking the engine apart, or don't do it at all!!
