Hi this summer I had a 10ft single row disc on the back of the JD, and the hydraulics would slowly drop the implement down. Slowly is within 5 minutes. I was told there is leathers in the piston area that need to be replaced. Is there something else I need to check. I made sure that I used non detergent oil in the hydraulics so there would be no foaming. I will be tearing the hydraulics apart soon so any information would be a great help. Thank you very much....

I should mention that when the hydraulics go down really slow under a load, what I mean is that I don't want them to go down, but they slowly do let the implement down. I apologize if my first note on this was confusing. Thanks again on this problem....

SCOTT THE HYD. CYL MIGHT NEED OVERHAULED. THE ROCHSHAFT PISTON HAS PACKINGS AND THE PISTON HOUSEING GASKET COULD BE BLOWN OUT. IF YOU HAVE PIONEER COUPLERS ON THE DISK CYL. , RAISE THE DISK AND THEN UNHOOK THE HOSE'S. THE DISK SHOULD NOT SETTLE ,IF IT DOES IT'S THE CYLINDER. THE BAD PART OF THIS IS THE HOSES ARE HARD TO HOOK BACK UP. DON

Scott, there is a throttle valve screw on the back lower part of the power-trol housing that adjusts the drop rate of the lift arms, remove the cap nut, loosen the jamb nut & turn the throttle screw in to increase the drop speed.
