I believe that everything was painted green on that tractor but in later years tractor owners painted the gas cap red but not the factory.

My '41 B, which had never been repainted, had a red cap on the gasoline starter tank.

Our '41 B when I was growing up had a red cap for the gasoline starter tank.

An original brochure I have from 1947 shows the gasoline tank cap as red on the all-fuel model and also on the gasoline model.

NO. The gas (small) tank was red and the fuel (large) tank was green. From the factory!

The gasoline tank cap is red on the all fuel tractors. Fuel tank cap was painted green on the earlier tractors. When they were gasoline only in later years, I don't think they were painted at all, just left galvanized metal.
