2010 Transmission Lockup in Reverse

This tractor has been a loyal machine, but has been locking up increasingly in first and third reverse under a snowplowing load. The lockup feels the same as hard brake action, with increasing laboring of the engine, and this is where I give it the clutch. When I let the clutch back out, there's no problem for a while. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with the brakes.

I don't want to hurt the old beast if there's something I can easily fix like a shifter or linkage. For anyone who knows this old iron, I'd appreciate your pointers on whether there's an easy fix or I should plan to open it up.

Thanks for any help you can give,

Richard

I don"t have any technical knowledge about this question, but I have a 1966 model 2010 crawler dozer and need to know what type of transmission fluid to use in it. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
