How hot is it getting? I have had my 43B to about 225 under a load (2-16"plow). All fuel tractors use to have to get over 200 to burn distilate. So they use to get very hot.

Will,
I am building a scale model JD "D" 39 inches tall. I am using a JD "H" motor and tranny. In order to reduce size I had to use a smaller radiator along with the pipes into and out of the radiator. At high idle inside the 70 degree shop it works ok. As soon as I finish the front axle I can take outside and put it under load. I would hope to keep it under 225. What usually goes if the engine is run too hot? Thanks Rich

Your project sounds cool. Don't know what whould go first. One thing for sure is, If I run 50/50 water antifreeze, 225 is were my B runs. Put straight water in she won't go over 200. Antifreeze is a oil and does not cool as well as water and it slows the thermosyphen system down. I didn't like my B running 225 degrees. But alot of the old times that I talk to didn't worry about it getting that high. Just make sure you have good oil presure and don't go over 225 and I think you would be ok. Let me know what she runs with a load on her. Sound cool!
