Hello- I have a 39 john deere b and am in the process of restoring it. I would like to put it on full steel because i personally think that steel with the styled tractors looks neat. I am just curious how much will steel cost for front and rear for this i heard front is hard to find is that true. And this should not be an incorrect wheel configuration cause i have seen styled B's on steel !! Thanks for your wonderful help and God Bless You all

You need for the rear. JD 1236 R for flat rear steel and, JD 1239 R for tip toe rear steel. The rear is good only for serial number 60000-102682. For the front you need, JD 1216 R for serial numbers 60000-95999. The fronts of every year B will work. But for the correct police, don't put zig-zag front steel on it. And don't put changable hub rears on it. I have checked around for steel for my 43 B. $1500-1800 for fronts and $1000-1200 for rears. You will pay on open market up around $2000 for a compleat set. Enjoy.

Jeff,
I don't have any idea exactly how much it will cost, but if I were to do it here in southeastern PA it would probably cost me a minumum $1000 to have all (original) steel on my tractor. (That is more than I payed for my '41B, by the way)
Good luck, sounds like you are having fun like all the rest of us.

Isn't life grand, a long time ago some farmer was just tickled pink to have rear rubber tires, & get rid of the steel wheels. I guess we've gone full circle. I'll bet it will cost you close to a grand, unless you are good at horse trading with someone. But there still are a few good buys out there {or steals}. RLA
