Couple years ago repaired a friend's Oliver 1650 originally equipped with a Delco that used an external regulator. Regulator was bad. Went to NAPA. They didn't have a listing for Oliver tractors so I told them I needed one for a '67 Chevy half ton pickup truck. No problem! They claimed they only had listings for an all electronic regulator. The mechanical ones were no longer available. Maybe true, maybe not. Anyway, I used the electronic regulator but had to install a dash light to make it work. The electronic regulators a tickle of electricity to make them start working. A side marker lamp & socket between the ignition switch & if I remember right the I terminal of the regulator. Works fine.

Joe, what brand and type of alternator do you have?? The GM types (like SI - 10) mostly have internal regulation (which is why they are so polular in tractor conversions), while Chrysler and some Ford require an external dfevice. I agree NAPA would have one if you have the type and model number. Ol John T Nordhoff in Indiana
