I'm currently restoring a 40 slant dash B. It has 36" split rims, needs rear tires. How hard is it to get the rims apart? Are these the correct rims for ths year?

John,

I almost bought a 40 A with 36" split rims. And I have a friend who has a 40 B with 36" split rims. In 41 Deere made it standard 38" rims. The 40 model year seems pretty standard to have 36" split rims. The one I looked at didn't look to hard to take apart. Looked like you deflait the tire, pull the bolt out that holds the ring on. Split the ring and pull the rim piece off. It is not a 2 piece rim. It is actualy 3 pieces. Let us know how it is going and if you need any more help.
