How is a Sulky Plow different from a Gang Plow?

They aren’t, necessarily different. Two old terms; sulky meant that the operator rode on a seat, mounted on the plow, as opposed to trodding along behind. “Gang plow” simply meant multiple bottoms. A plow could be both.

Gang plow was probably used more to describe large, multi bottom setups pulled by a large traction engine where the configuration was more like pulling several plows at once, using a spreader tool bar.
