Read earlier on the board about classic or regular paint for John Deere....for my 49 M, what should I use? Also a friend said use Emeron paint, if that is good to use, who supplies it? Thanks....Jerry

Jerry,

I went down to my local John Deere dealer and bought cans of Classic Green and Yellow. My tractor looks good. I would use a mask of some sort with any paint. I have a 51 M.

Jerry, use which ever one you like best, The color is not that much different between the two. ~The trend lately seems to be favoring Classic, but that is based more on what the other people are doing than actually matching the original color.
~Whichever one you choose will look good, & will look like a John Deere.
~Your friends advice to use Emeron paint is good advice for a working tractor or one that is used for both work & show as Emeron paint is very durable & doesn't scratch or nick nearly as easily as Deere paint. (It's as hard as snail's nuts). The down side is the cost, & you don't even want to think about spraying that stuff without a fresh air breathing system or a high end canister filtered mask with new canisters every day, (I personally wouldn't even use a filtered mask, but would use a fresh air supply), Emeron is a very toxic paint to use without proper protection.
