THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PREVIOUS HELP. NOW 1939 H FRONT FAN HOUSING WITH THE PIPE THREAD PLUG ON TOP.WHAT KIND OF GREASE OR OIL AND HOW MUCH? AND WHERE DO YOU CHECK IT?

Jerry, if you are talking about the bearing housing right behind the fan? it should really be disassembled & the bearings cleaned, inspected & packed with high temp molly grease.
~Most people don't get that involved (it is quite a job) & just install a grease fitting & shoot some grease in, the amount depends on the discharge amount on your grease gun & how long it's been since it has been greased. ~If it has been a while maybe 5-8 pumps, then if after running it for a while grease starts to appear at the front seal, that was enough. If after a few hours of running grease doesn't appear, a few more pumps would be a good idea.
~Once grease appears don't grease it again for a year.
