THANKS CLOONEY. I THINK I HAVE A POUROUS CASTING AFTER CLEANING, DO YOU KNOW HOW TO RESEAL IT , AND WHAT TO USE, AND DO I HAVE TO DISSASEBLE THE CARB AGAIN? OR CAN I LET IT GO AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL QUIT LEAKING, ITS NOT BAD WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP, JERRY

Jerry, that depends on what part of the casting is porous, if it is a sealing area or flange, braze or a touch of weld, If it is a non-sealing area or just a pin hole, epoxy or LockTite 290 wicking casting porosity sealer will probably work.
~It must be clean & have no oil or dirt for either the epoxy or LocTite sealer to work.
~As for disassembling the carb, you will have to make that determination when you find the exact area that it is leaking from..... .....

Jerry, where exactly on the top of the fuel bowl does the fuel leak from?
~You could have anything from a porous casting to a plugged bowl vent to a leaking float to a leaking bowl gasket.
~To see where the fuel level is actually running, remove the carb drain on the bottom of the bowl then install a small barbed hose fitting, then install a 10"-12" piece of clear plastic hose on the fitting & wire it to run up next to the float bowl with the open end above the top of the carb. With the fuel turned on, the fuel level in the tube will be the same as in the float bowl. (leave the top of the hose open to atmosphere)
