Why did they only put 1000 rpm pto on the 5020 and 6030? I'd like to have a 5020 but the lack of 540 pto is definitely a negative aspect. Wonder if there is a way to reduce it to 540?

Forget about a 5020 and get a 4440. Best move you’ll ever make if you need that kind of power.

The engineers designing the 1st pto never dreamed of tractors above 50HP. You would need a hoist to manoeuvre the pto shaft if it was made large enough to carry the torque at 540 rpm with a 5020/6030. Without even allowing for shock loads of at least four times rated torque,a 540 rpm pto 145HP 5020 would have 1410 ft lb vs; 761 ft lb at 1000 rpm. A 540 rpm 200HP 6030 pto would have 1945 ft lbs vs.; 1050 ft lbs. 1000rpm also reduces the chance of small/old equipment from being twisted to bits behind a oversized source. There are adaptor stub shafts along with setting the drawbar to 14 inches will allow connecting. 972 engine rpm is not where a 5020 or 6030 should be loaded however.
