Your B should have 4 1/2 inch bore std. You might be able to find some NOS oversized pistons for it JD only made .045 over they also made a gas piston for this tractor I got a set from Stephen Equipment in Colorado a few years back and it really pepped it up.In my travels I have talked to more than one person that used these tractors when new and some said that they bored theirs out to take the 4 11/16 pistons of the later B and it worked.I never tried it some blocks may have enough meat to do this but I always thought it would be too thin but it might be worth a try as late model B 4 11/16 pistons are easy to come by.

Went to Ebay and found the pistons you are talking about. No they wont fit. They are for the late B. Bigger bore than your B. Plus they are 125 over. Would make your block too thin. If you could bore it that big. Sorry.

Joe, I wouldn't bore your B any more than needed. Save the meat on the cylinder block walls for later. The horsepower won't be much different whether you go .045, .090 or .125. Those pistons on ebay look like they are used. I wouold strongly advise you to not buy used pistons. Espescially used pistons on ebay. Unless I knew the seller, I wouldn't buy anything used on ebay for that matter. Sometimes I am even skeptical of products claimed to be new on ebay. Joe, You can't go wrong if you buy new pistons for your B. I bought a pair for my A from Dennis Polk Equipment (800) 795-3501. The service is great and the pistons are top notch. There are also several other places to get these same high quality pistons for you B. You just need to shop around. Don't buy used aluminum pistons, chances are you'll be sorry. I apologize for the long post. Good luck with your B. John

I bought high compression model A pistons .045 over, with RINGS, WRIST PINS and RETAINERS for $395.00 from Dennis Polk. Pistons for the B probably cost less but I am not sure. If you shop around you may find them cheaper. I prefer Polk but that's just me. I can assure you that you will be much happier if you spend a little more money on new pistons rather than buy someone elses used pistons they are trying to sell on ebay. Good Luck. John
