I saw a JD 750 2wd tractor sitting at a nearby dealer. It has a woods belly mower and 2200 hours on the meter. Average to good condition - a bit dinged up in front. I'll find out the asking price on Monday, but I'm wondering about this model in particular. - is 2200 hours getting close to any major problems (engine/trans)? - are these good, durable tractors? - are parts available? expensive? - is everything standard (hitch/pto)? - can you put a front-end loader on these? I plan to use it on my 10 acre property. Mowing, plowing, tilling if I can get it for a good deal and figure that it won't require major work anytime soon.

I just recently restored a 755, later model, live power. These are tough tractors built by Yanmar for JD.

You had to restore a tractor that new! Some one must have not of taken care of it at all ! I have a 1983 750 that looks like the day it was new ,all original had it since new .It wasn't that hard to keep nice. I'm glad to hear that you fixed it up, now maybe it has a good home.

I own a 1983 750 4wd. Great little tractor. No problems with it to date. It has enough power to tear itself up if you were to abuse it. Mine has a loader. It will lift about 750 lbs. I don't think you would be happy with a 2wd with a loader. If you want a front-end loader on a 750, look for one with 4wd. A 2wd will work great for mowing, tilling and plowing. Just my opinion.

My father has a John Deere 750, 3 cylinder diesel, and he is looking for a front end loader for it, but someone told him that he will have to buy a model 67 front end loader for it. Is this true? Do you know of anywhere I can find one?

2200 hrs shouldn't hurt it if it had regular maintance.JD recemmonds testing injectors every 500 hrs. and adjusting the engine valve clearance. I have done this on ours it has 2000 hrs on it.
the first time I did the valves they needed adjusted, after that not much change, the injectors
tested fine until this year I had them rebuilt. JD has the parts most normal parts are average price. These are very well built machines and with care should last a while. If you have hills Or want to use a loader much,[
JD still sells one to fit it ],I would only recommend a four wheel drive, these tractors can do the job of a larger model 2 wd, the few times I've ran ours in 2wd mode it is so light it just spins but put it in four wheel mode and it is like a whole differant machine it really goes even in ice and snow. The 3 point and pto are standard the pto stops when you push in the clutch
but it has a built in overrunning clutch so you can stop.Power steering is an option I wish I had one,but JD wants $1000.00 for it.hope this helps.
