A G gear problems

went to plow the other day and my G stuck in 5 th gear. drove to the house in nutral and got on a side hill it came out.my question is it a dent ball missing and how do i replace it.On my 36 A it pops out of 4th or scoend hi on a good pull.what is the fix

36 A, on the G you could have worn detents, detent springs, or detent notches in the shift rails. Or worn shift lever bottom ball or pivot.
~Depending on how it popped out of gear (while driving or while shifting) it could even be worn bearings or gears.
~About all you can do is pull the trans cover & take a look or feel.. ~On your 36 A it sounds more like worn "sliding gear" shaft bearings but could be almost anything from worn outer input shaft bearing, to worn splines or gears,to weak detents. Again about all you can do is pull the trans cover & take a look.....

the G i was setting a plow and left it in seconed gear jumped off and got back on pushed in the clutch it was stuck.The tractor was leaning to the right .In my yard when it came out of gear it leaned to the left.On the a i was just driveng it in the yard and road the breaks to work the motor.The a is the same one you helped with on back firing out carb you were right valve.
