I am going to replace the exhaust on my 60 and wanted to know if I should use some kind of sealer on the ends. Thanks for the info, John

John:

I just bolt them up. There might be some exhaust leakage (minor) at the joint and where it enters the muffler, but unless you're running a winter canvas cab "Heat-houser" you'll probably not even notice it.

FIT: Thanks. I bought a new muffler for my 60 the other day and when I saw this post, I decided to watch to see what came out. As soon as I dig out the mud dauber mess from the bolt holes, I'll put it on. The 60 belonged to my Dad and he ran it without a muffler for years. It had a homemade muffler on it when he got it made out of steel pipes welded inside each other and welded onto a 4 bolt flange.
