Lookin' for some good tune up specs for a 65 4020 gas? I have no manual. What things do I need to know. Started working on this one for a neighbor guy. It runs very rough but compression is good. Got all new ignition parts but I just wanted some direction on the settings.

If he's going to be using it often, and wants to drastically improve starting and performance, I'd recommend installing a Pertronix electronic-ignition set-up. They're not terribly expensive, are easily available through most auto-parts stores (go prepared with the polarity of the system (positive- or negative-ground), the make and model of tractor, and if possible, the distributor part number). They come with good instructions, and will really improve starting and response, thanks to a hotter spart. And they eleminate having to worry about point problems in the future. Money well spent, IMHO.
