I finally got that powersteering motor back together and back in the frame. I've taken my time and painted everything as I went back together. Got enough of it back together this afternoon so that I could start it and check for leaks. Everything seems to be holding. No oil leaks in the steering or from the front main seal. I still have the balky, slow hydraulics that everyone with a 2010 seems to be having trouble with. I drained the hydraulic oil just before I quit for the evening. Tomorrow I'll see about a new hydraulic filter. The oil seemed to be a murky slime that reminded me of motor oil mixed with water. That I don't understand. I don't think there is any way the engine coolant could be contaminating it and the radiator has always been full. The tractor stays in the barn unless I'm using it, so that eliminates rain water. I just don't know. It could be air mixed in the oil making a sort of foam. The pump acts like its starved for fluid and is probably cavitating and that could be making it mix with air. Any suggestions??

Thanks for the update on the pump. We 2010 owners need all the help we can get. The old oil probably picked up moisture from condensation during the seasonal changes in temperature. I've seen this often. No leaks, just cast iron condensation.
I highly recommend a new filter. Lots of work but probably due.
I guess I'm lucky, but my hydraulics work good with just an occasional wobble in the power steering. Mine's a late model, '65.

I ordered a new filter today from the local JD dealer. She thought she had it in stock until I laid the old one up on the counter. It should be in tomorrow afternoon. Maybe this weekend the old beast will lift again.
