1020 neutral won't roll easily

I've posted several times in the past 3 years on this website for questions on my 1970 1020 diesel. I've rebuilt the engine, replaced almost everything on it, and I have to say that I love this tractor.

Anyway, before I rebuilt the engine (when I lost a main crank bearing and she seized-up on me) I had to tow it home. In neutral, this thing does not want to move. I know they warn you about towing with a hi-low shifting unit, but my 1020 has the manual shifting with the two levels down between your knees.

Whenever I put both levers in neutral and try to move it, I can't get it to go without using another vehicle. My own truck is easier to move!!! I've replaced the brakes on both sides.

I most noticed how hard she turns when I went down the road the other day to get diesel fuel. In 8th gear, she really chatters going up minor hills in the road and I think this is associated with the massive friction that keeps her from turning.

Is there something that I may be missing? Bearings that could be shot? Transmission that could be caught on something? She shifts fine and runs well at lower gears, but will not budge when I try to push her around in the garage in neutral.

Any help out there with other 1020 owners?

BTW....She's the best.

Sure sounds odd. Here are some thoughts I had that might help diagnosing. First is checking the tire pressure as its related to rolling resistance. Jack it up and spin the tires by hand. Ayup, fronts also. Try cracking the brakelines under the RH footrest and bleeders. Then try spinning the tires by hand. Also if your tractor has a differential lock, make sure it dissengages. If this doesnt shed any lite then its probably something sad happening inside the rear diff. or transmission.
