Can anyone tell me, are the pony motors positive or negative ground, and are they 6 or 12 volt. I have heard both. Thanks Shane

Shane,

Frank is right about the ground and the voltage. I just wanted to let you know that be sure to keep or install the ignition switch that came from the factory because it already has the risistor in it and will step down the voltage after the pony is running. I made the mistake of switching to a different switch that didn't step down the voltage. It burned up the coils and magneto wiring right quick. Good Luck!

Jim

Shane:

They are positive ground, six volts. They use a by-pass circuit to provide direct 6 volts to the distributor during cranking (when the voltage tends to drop), and during running, a dropping resistor provides a reduced voltage to the distributor.
