I took my power trol off again to check every thing and it was fine.i have a question about the valve that is held in by the spring, should the valve seat? because mine isnt seating, theres about an 1/8 in gap from seating. but thats how it was before, and it worked before replacing the gaskets. if you pull up on the lift arms, and hold it there for a while, it will stay strongly up, and it will go down when pushing the handle back, what the HEL* is going on!!!!! im sick of this!
thanks
Joe

Joe, what did you do to it last that it won't work? Did you try and hook a remote cylinder to see if it works? Do you have the dummy plug in the correct hole? I believe that you only need one dummy plug.

Did you use a new gaskets, and was the gasket installed correctly for piston cylinder? Have you tried to use a remote cylinder?

Joe, does the pump make any noise when you put it in the lift mode?
~Did you match the old & new gaskets up to be sure they are the same?
~Maybe you have some dirt caught in the relief valve.
~You weren't real specific about which valve, but it sounds like you are talking about the "throttle valve". That valve controls the lowering rate & is usually adjusted to be slightly off it's seat to allow the rockshaft to lower. The more it's open the quicker the rockshaft lowers..

Joe, it probably isn't making noise because it either isn't getting oil to the intake or there isn't any pressure to the control system due to a stuck relief valve, inoperative operating valve, misadjusted linkage, internal leak or?
~Pull the little top cover & see if the valves are operating when you move the lever.
~ If they are, you are probably going to have to put a pressure gage on it to see if it is making any pressure..... .

there is oil in the gears and the pto is turning, it is a 1946. I do have the correct dummy plugs in it.
