I found the problem, the key that kolds the gear on the shaft was in pieces and smashed, put a new one on and it works, but lifts slow, i messed with the metering screw and i wonder how you go about making it lift faster? thanks for all your help.

Slow Lifting can be caused by water in your hyd. oil. This also causes jerky lifts.

Joe, the metering screw only effects the slow raise. It shouldn't effect the fast lift position.
~If the control lever or valve isn't [or wasn't] going to full fast lift you might be restricted somewhat by the metering screw. [turn the metering screw in to increase the slow raise speed].
~If that isn't the problem you might need to give it time to bleed all the air out of the system.....
