Deere made a belt pulley attachment for the PTO on the new generation tractors. But I have never seen one. I can't imagine I could now go to my dealer and order one either. Does anyone know where I might get such a thing? Thanks. Joe P.

I think that we have two belt pulleys on our farm for the new generation tractors and were are located in Northern Illinois.

i should of mentioned in my last post that i may of lead you to believe that the pulley assy. is brand new, i can not vouch for the hours that it has been used, only that i have never used it since i have owned the tractor, about 6 years.
though i can't see it having that many hrs.

also when i said that i do not know what this item is worth that is true. though i was offered $1000 cdn. for it sometime ago. i did not sell it since it was only a short time after i bought the tractor and thought i might be able to use it

i actually have a belt pulley off of my 3020 that i have never used, only installed it once to see how it looked. obviously this is a very hard item to find please e-mail me what you might want to pay for such an item, since i don't know what they are worth. i'm not sure if i want to sell it since i completely restored my 3020, it's a gas powershift, standard, w/3pt. and all the side panels & curtains are in place, and the belt pulley is a nice option, but there is no harm in asking and even if i decide not to sell it i will keep your info, because you never know people have been known to change their mind

If you are looking for one to use not show, you can do what I did. Keep an eye out at auction, junkyard etc. for an older pto pulley. I picked one up for $15 a few years ago at an auction, I think it was off a 720 but won't swear to it. The bolt pattern was slightly smaller than my 3020 But all I had to do was fabricate a plate with the correct bolt holes in it. Works very well.

if you used a pulley off of 720 or any other sort, and made an adapter, did the pulley come staight out the back of the tractor, or at a 90 degree angle? since my pulley actually bolts directly onto the pto quill housing with a rather large 90 degree gearbox that runs the same way as your tires would turn, you almost require two people to install it.

Not certain what model it came off. But it's a JD pulley with 90 degree gear box and metal pulley wheel. Yes its fairly heavy, but not a "two man job". The more I think about it,it makes me curious what models it did fit. I could get some casting numbers off it and put them on this board if anybody could look them up.

the original 3020 belt pulley was a fairly meaty solid cast pulley, no sure if the same as yours. what made it so hard to install was the off center of gravity and of course that real heavy pulley, but sure get some casting numbers and i can check with my pulley to see if they match at all

I know of someone who has one on a 4020. He had his 4020 at a tractor show on his farm. They run the saw mill with it. It worked very good.

They are made to run with the 1000 rpm PTO

We had one "way back when" which the dealer ordered for us; that's where I'd start looking.....

Saw one advertised to fit a 3010-4010 (I'm assuming it would also fit the "20" series). This was about 10yrs ago & I thought I would run my sawmill with a 4010D. Called the guy as soon as I saw the ad, but was already sold-was the only one I've ever seen for sale-must be pretty uncommon.

I have never seen one either but I'm sure there must be someout there somewhere, probably in the deep dark corner of someone's shop. Think most things went from belt to pto a while before the 3020 but if one was offered they must have anticipated a need. You could put an add in the Classifieds.
