Pto pump gear housing

I was wondering, do you need a gasket between the pump housing and the cover? 1946 B. they dont sell them i made one for it, could this be why my 3 point dont work?

Light coat of shellac after you clean the mating surfaces w/ Acryliclean or equiv. will seal it up & is recommended by service manuals. No gaskets.

Joe, no gasket, that will let the oil by-pass the pump gears cause a loss of pressure.
~It will probably leak a little oil if you don't use some type of sealer on the cover to pump housing. I use Loc-Tite 518 but probably a light coat of any sealer will work [a very light coat on a very clean surface]
