Im going to rebuild my B trannsmission, its a 1946. Im sure all the bearings are going to be bad, and probably a few gears too. What should all the rebuild cost? like all the bearings and gasket kit from john deere? every time i shift into 6th gear on the road, it clunks really loud. It is also really noisy in 3rd and 4th.
thanks

I think I had a little over $500 in mine by the time I was done. Included all the bearings on the sliding gear shaft, countershaft and input gear shaft and the bushings on both PTO gear shafts. I didn't replace any bearings on the differential shaft or axles. I only had to get one of the bearings (JD 7973 R) and the PTO shaft bushings from Deere, the rest were stocked by a local bearing distributor. The $500 included a salvage yard input gear shaft and both PTO gearshafts, plus gaskets, etc.

I had over 400.00 in mine and it wasn't in the shpe you are describing. Bearings get really expensive from deere.

Gears & Shafts are not available from deere you have to go the used route for them.

Hope this helps

Sam
