Wtw baering noise

WTW i have an 44 A and a 39 B both have this rough bearing noise but they both seem to run good.the noise seems to come from the govner . but noise can travle.any ideas , do you think it could be that cam bearing you referd to on a nother post. thanks

36, If your tractor is running OK good chance your noise is governor bearing related. For sure on your "B" as the cam on all "B's" do not use a bearing per say, the cast iron cap is the bearing on all "B's". On both the "A" and the "B" the governor and fan bearing are the same bearing / part number. They do fail and are a very common over looked area when people restore these tractors. The bearing have a pretty tough life especially the governor bearings because the governor located on top of the engine gets all the moisture and condensation that the engine produces, kind of like a big steam dome setting on top of a boiler. This moisture and condition does play havoc with the governor bearing. I would start at the governor if I was you. Good Luck, Dave W.
