Does any one have any information on how many of these were made with the 34" rear wheels. I know of one, and another is on eBay presently. Thanks!

The one on Ebay is a tricycle (T) with the optional wide front end. notice the rear wheel hub is fited to a round axle shaft, the (W) wheel bolted direct to a non adjustable hub. check your serial tag and make sure it is not stamped (T). if it is stamped (W) I don't know for sure but Deere probablly could have optioned the rear wheels on a (W)

Not wishing to be argumentive, but the man on eBay says his is one of 68, and that is how many 430W-LP's John Deere said they made. There were 128 430T-LP's made, I have one of them. The one I have personally looked at has axles like the one pictured on eBay, and has 34" rear wheels. I believe the one pictured would set higher in the rear, if it were a 430T. Clooney, would you be so kind to respond, if you have any information.
Again, Dwayne, I have no desire to be argumentive.
Thanks for your input.

I have to admit I am wrong. I don't understand a W having T axles on it. The 430T-lp I had, had 36" rear tires and a wide front end, but it was stamped T on the tag as the one on ebay was stamped W ? I think we might need J R Hobbs' help on this one.

What may be confusing you guys is the spin-out-wheel option. I have a 430W with spin-outs and it has a different hub, it has a big nut in the center. It has the 28 inch wheels... I have another 430W without the spin-outs and it has the 34 inch wheels and the long axles that the hub clamps around. This was an option, you could buy them either way.

Row crop utilities could be obtained with 34" tires. I was looking in an old two-cylinder mag tonight. Also if you have an accessory book that was put out by Green Mag. it shows rear wheel weights for 34" tire rim combo. for row crop utlities (Wides) Thought I'd get my two cents in since your talking about my 430W lp.

Nate,

Thanks for your input as well as the rest who have responded. Dubuque LP models have intrigued me since I started collecting. I just missed S/N 141263, several years ago, which according to J.R. Hobbs was the first documented 430 LP made, it was a W, with 28" rear rubber. He says those which are LP with lower s/n than that had special job or order numbers. I had a hard time getting the fellow to sell me the 430T-LP that I own, finally bought him a 9N Ford, and traded even! Again thanks to all for your input!

I also have a 420 T LP that I have not started on yet. It is the tricycle front with the 28 inch spin-outs on the rear. It is serial # 131692 I believe there were only 225 of these.
